The first block of walks has been great and the group is steadily growing. After a few weeks off due to Bank Holidays and other commitments we have just published the dates for our second block of walks.

We will continue to walk around the lake but with extended walks exploring the surrounding trails for those who wish to cover more distance. We really hope to see you there!

We had a great first walk on Monday morning, thank you to all who came. It was a small group but the sun was shining and we all felt rewarded for making the effort. We really hope that the group will grow and grow. Not only did we get to chat while taking exercise, but two members of the group may be taking up the opportunity to train as walk leaders themselves as part of 'Walking For Health!' So thanks to Tina Hensey from Chesterfield Borough Council. You just never know what can happen when you put yourself out there on a Monday morning!

I post the following with permission from the person im referring to...We also witnessed a first and personal best for one group member who after being in recovery for two years following a stroke, made it triumphantly all the way around the lake! He said that being in a group spurred him on to go further than he had before and feel safe doing it.. What a result! We all went home buzzing!

If your free and would like to join us please get in touch, we'd love to welcome you to our friendly group. Everybody welcome! All our walks are pushchair, wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly and work to a pace to suit all...
